Education
Technical University of Łódź, Department Electrical Engineering, M.Sc., B.Sc. Electrical Engineering, specialization in Industrial Control Systems (1977).
Professional experience and career
- In 1978-1981 she worked at the Technical University of Łódź as an Electronic Research Engineer.
- In 1982-1983 she worked as a Junior Electronic Design Engineer in Multitrol Corporation, Concord, Ontario were she was responsible for the design and development of advanced microprocessor based systems in HVAC applications.
- In 1983-1987 she was employed in ESE Limited, Motorola Networking Group,
Ontario, as an Intermediate Design Engineer. Maria designed and developed
hardware and software features on Motorola microprocessors for communication
protocols implemented for worldwide users. - In 1987-1998 she worked for Motorola Codex, Ontario, as a Software Design
Engineer and Software developer writing System Design, Functional and Design
Specifications and implementing firmware coding and debugging. Maria led the
first Motorola Codex business trade mission to Poland, demonstrating networking equipment to Polish banks, research and government administration institutions. Maria examined numerous customer applications, conducted field visits and on
site investigations. She pioneered remote debugging procedures for engineering technical support from a central location. She worked on complex network integration projects in Sweden, Belgium, France, USA, Canada, Poland. - In 1998 – 2001 she was employed in Motorola ISG, as a Staff Engineer in
Platform Software Group. After the sale of Motorola MND in 2001 she continued
employment with Vanguard Managed Solutions, LLC. until the closure of
Mississauga development centre in the end of 2004.
Maria Swietorzecki was the team lead and core team lead responsible for the definition of architecture and product requirements of new access routers. Her responsibilities included many cross functional activities like product cost optimisation, Y2K coordinator, or the liason in Process Improvement Core Team.
Maria Swietorzecki was responsible for design and development of edge routers - Vanguard 340 Enhanced and dual-LAN Vanguard 342. In parallel she was supporting central site router family Vanguard 73XX, she participated in product
roadmap planning, in managing Customer Escalations and ISO 9001 processes implementation and compliance.
The Motorola Multiservice Routers Vanguard series won numerous awards in trade shows and lab testing, like: Editor’s Choice Internet Telephony Magazine, CTI Expo, Product of the Year 1999 Internet Telephony, PC Magazine Editor’s
Choice, etc. - From 2005 Maria Swietorzecki is self employed as independent consultant in the field of communication and Internet.

- Founder of the first Polish-Canadian Internet Service Provider, Infopol IIS, Inc.
distributing for the first time in North America, Polish Press Agency’s newswire
and photo service. This service helped to publish the first Polish daily newspaper
in Toronto, Canada. - Presented seminars and demonstrations promoting Internet, modem communication and remote collaboration.
- Facilitated donation of Motorola Codex modems to Polish universities, in collaboration with the Committee for Technological Cooperation with Poland.
- Delegated for II Polonia Summit in Pultusk, Poland (28 April – 3 May 2001).
- Member of the Council For The Support Of Polish Studies At The University Of Toronto.
